Running With Brian

Tips to improve your running pace/

My son agreed to guest write on my blog on becoming a better runner, weather it be faster, stronger or endurance.

Brian has been competing in Cross Country, Track, and Winter Track since the 7th grade and all through college.

This is his first addition to my blog.

Pace: Many people don’t think about their pace when they run, but it is one of the easiest things to do in order to improve on your performance. It doesn’t cost anything and you don’t have to put in any extra time. The general rule is 180 steps a minute, that’s 90 steps with each foot per minute. It is easy to gauge where you’re at as long as you wear a watch when you run. Another important technique is to try and run with more of a mid foot strike. It slows you down each step when you land on your heels. These provide what is called free energy and help you to run more efficiently.

If you have any questions for Brian pertaining to running, feel free write them out here.

Thank you Brian!
