MilestonePod Review

MILESTONEPOD REVIEW

I received the Milestonepod to review, and it is something I have never seen before.
Most of us wonder.....how many miles do I have on my running shoe,or shoes. Wonder no more, this little light weight devise takes
the guessing out.

They do come in different colors, but the people at MilestonePod were awesome enough to send me the pink one.
You download the Free mobile app, which wirelessly will sync to your phone or Ipad.
Simply lace the pod through your shoe and begin your work out. The pod collects data as soon as it senses movement. No buttons, no waiting, no hassle. Track your mileage for every run or walk – your pod goes with you everywhere. There is no need to disconnect from shoe.

The pod constantly displays current total mileage from your shoes. Never replace a shoe too soon and avoid falling prey to injuries from broken down shoes (e.g. stress fractures, tendonitis, plantar fascitis, runner’s knee, shin splints, and others.
Wirelessly sync your pod with Bluetooth technology to view detailed work out data. The MilestonePod stores up to two weeks of data covering overall mileage, individual run mileage, pace, and cadence.
And if you run in more than one pair of shoes, which you should,
the price of the MilestonePod is reasonable enough to have one for each pair.

Here is the link to give you more information, and where to buy your own MilestonePod. http://milestonepod.com/

If you already have the Pod let me know what you think, if not is this something you would be interested in?

My Healthy Kitchen

My healthy organic staples.

I want to share with you a few healthy foods I always keep on hand in my kitchen.

1. Ezekiel bread and Tortilla's

These by far make the healthiest sandwiches, taco's Pizza's
or wraps.
2. Organic Coconut oil.
Coconut oil has many uses, I use it to fry, bake, condition my hair, and it is also a good body lotions.....and smells so good.

3. Chips

These tortilla chips are so good, great flavor and texture.  I find them a better snack than potato chips, or other tortilla chips. And they go great with a Organic salsa.

4. Organic eggs.

You will not go back to non organic eggs after you have eaten farm fresh Organic eggs, the taste is so much better and of course the eggs are much healthier for you.

5. Spinach and Quinoa cakes.

Pair these with fried eggs for breakfast, or salsa for a snack.
Most of these products you can find at Costco, or your local organic store.

Happy healthy eating!

History

The Color Run was founded in January of 2012 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”. We are the original paint race and have created a completely new genre of running events that continues to grow exponentially. Now the single largest event series in the United States, The Color Run has exploded since our debut event. We have more than tripled our growth, hosting more than 170 events in 30+ countries in 2013. Click here to join the party!

How the event works

Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants, or “Color Runners”, are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow:
  1. Wear white at the starting line
  2. Finish plastered in color!
The fun continues after Color Runners complete the race with an unforgettable Finish Festival. This larger than life party is equipped with music, dancing and massive color throws, which create millions of vivid color combinations. Trust us, this is the best post-5k party on the planet!

And who doesn't love a sweet swag bag, Fun, Fun, Fun!!
I will be running in the Twin Cities color run, and I can not wait.
So get your pals together, and have a fantastic time.

EVERLAST PRODUCT REVIEW

Everlast Review.

I am a gym rat, besides spending most of my time running I also love a good physical workout.
And with the help of Everlast I have all I need.
Everlast sent me product to try out and review for my home gym, and I am loving it.
Last week the product arrived at my door, and I was so excited to get this set up.

Now the heavy bag rack instructions say to plan on about 2 hours to assemble, but it took no more than 1 hour. ( thank you honey)
The heavy bag, can you believe it...... is black and Hot Pink!!
I know, I fell in love too.

Before I received this  new bag, I had my other Everlast bag hanging from the ceiling, and what I love about this is, I can move it to a different area if I want to change things around.
This bag is made of a different material, not so hard on my hands.

Here are a few of the heavy bag features.

Longer bag length (40’’) to accommodate punches, knees, and kicks.
• CardioBlast Bag combines a lightweight technical outer shell with impact dispersing stuffing for the ultimate in dynamic cardio training.
• Premium synthetic leather with reinforced webbing along with excellent heavy bag construction provides durability and functionality.
• Designed without sand bags to create softer feel for cardio and conditioning work.
• Everstrike technology is a woven, textured lightweight synthetic material engineered for maximum durability.
• Heavy Bag available in 40 LBS

I also had a chance to review their new backpack, this thing is like a closet. So many compartments to put just about anything, I have a place for my shoes, gloves, jumping rope, water, snacks, etc.

And not just for the gym, I'm thinking how perfect one of these bags would be for my son who is a hockey player. Room for skates, gloves, and pads. This is the perfect gym bag let me tell you.

Features on this bag are:
Heavy-duty polyester with padded top handle and backstraps.
• Front panel can be unzipped, rolled down, and fastened with a quick-release lock for ventilation.
• Adjustable straps and option to buckle across chest.
• Padded laptop compartment.
• Hanging key fob and lined top pocket for valuables.
• Mesh water bottle pockets on sides and cell phone pocket on strap.• Outer zippered side pockets with adjustable straps for shin guards.
• Bottom panel unzips to expand into 35" duffel bag with detachable shoulder strap.
• Measures 23” x 16” x 12” when used as backpack; 35” x 16” x 12” when used as duffel; Weighs 4.2 LBS

If you are looking for new gym equipment this is the company to go to, I am by far very impressed with their quality and craftsmanship.

My first 1/2 Marathon

Running my first 1/2 marathon.

Making the decision to run a 1/2 marathon was a hard one, I knew for me to actually do it I needed to get signed up for one and start training.
When I found out the Biggest Loser was coming to my city with a 1/2 marathon run, I signed up.
I got my son to run this one with me, I felt more at ease knowing I will do it with someone who will hold me accountable.
I trained...... not as well as I should have.
Never did get in a long run the whole time leading up to race day, and I will not do that again.
On race day it was 30 degree's, chance of snow turning to rain, ugh.
Oh' what I would have gave to just see the sun, and feel a little warmth. By the time we started my toes were so cold, they were numb.
It didn't take long to warm up, my gloves came off a few miles into the race and I handed them off to a little girl cheering us on following the route.
About mile 7 I started to get a severe pain in my knee, I was feeling so good with this run until that moment. But I knew I had to run through the pain and just finish, I had family waiting for me and I wanted to make them proud.

Now here is my most memorable moment, at mile 12  I am pushing through the pain half walking when I see my son run towards me, he had already finished and came back to run that last mile with me. He said, you got this.....worry about the pain when you cross the finish line, don't let them see you walk. I ran the best I could across that line, and tears came down my face when then my son told me, he had placed 1st in the 1/2 marathon. He won the race!

What a awesome day this was, I could not be more proud of him.
The rain continued to fall, we were freezing so bad we shook while waiting for awards to be announced. But I would do it all over again for a moment like this.
It truly is a once in a lifetime feeling, and I am so Blessed with this family of mine.
I also have to give credit to my husband and my other 2 boys for waiting in the rain through all this to show their support. And for my youngest who volunteered his time to help out with the event, family......we are a Team!

Back to the little girl I handed my pink gloves off to, she was waiting for me at the finish line, congratulated me and wanted to give me my gloves back. I told her to keep them, there yours, and she had a big smile.

If you ever thought about running a 1/2 marathon, I would say do it! I am so happy I did, and I came in 15 minutes sooner than I expected to.
Do you have a moment to share from your first race??
please do.
