The Foot Gym Review

My Foot Gym Review:

I was asked to review the Foot Gym, and being an avid runner it seemed a good product to help me recover from injury or a long run.
I have not seen a product like this before, and I was pretty excited to try it out.

This product is 7 exercises in one device.
There are three different resistance bands which works well for strengthening and stretching.

Before this product I was using a tennis ball to massage under my foot, with this foot gym I fill the roller with warm water and roll back and forth.
The roller can be filled with warm or cold water.
The bands and slant board are great for toe curls, toe extensions, calf raises, and calf stretch.
This product is great if you are recovering from injury, or to treat plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis or foot pain.
For a product to provide so many treatments, and small enough to fit anywhere, it is a must have for the athletic person or non athletic person.

Also, I received with this product are compression sleeves.

I am a big believer in compression socks/sleeves for recovering after a run. My favorite is the compression foot +calf sleeve, and not just for the awesome color.
Besides running in them, I sleep in them to help with circulation and recovery. On days where I have a long run I get restless legs during the night, but when wearing the compression sleeve to bed I am relieved of it.

Running my third 1/2 marathon

Running my third 1/2 marathon/

I just finished my 3rd and final half marathon for this year, and it was by far my best.
I have to tell you..... what a difference it makes to train well. I came off this one feeling great, and back to running the next day.

Of course when I first signed up, I thought the bling and the jacket were awesome!! But running this race in St. Paul, MN was just breathtaking, running along the Mississippi river, on a beautiful fall day.... I was so happy to be part of it.
I run most of my races with my son, as most of you know. And he is the reason I am a runner today.
I  joined a running club this past summer called Moms On The Run, and wow what a difference it made in my running ability.
This race I took 9 minutes off my time, I wanted so badly to make the 2 hour mark, but I came in at 2:05.
Next time!
My son ran the 10 mile with a time of 57:30, absolutely Amazing!!

He is also my trainer, and I try to do  (most) of what he says.
Next year I turn "50" and my goal is to run that 2 hour 1/2 marathon, I am determined  to do it.
I know I need to train better, eat clean, and strength train.

I want to tell you, if there is something you want bad enough you can do it!!
It doesn't have to be running, whatever it is in life that you want to go after, it could be a sport, a new job, living a healthier happy lifestyle. It's Yours.
Go out and grab it!

Life is good my friends

Running Makes You Younger

3 Cool ways running makes you younger.

Get your glow back.
Running increases the production of human growth hormone- your body's natural youth serum. This helps you produce new cells, which can make your skin look a lot more youthful.

Strengthen Bones.
The pounding of running sparks bones to regenerate, which is why older runners generally have higher bone density than non-runners of the same age.

Outsmart Disease.
Running protects your telomeres ( the shoelace cap-like DNA sequence coatings on the end of your chromosomes) which start to wear down as you age. The result.... You're less susceptible to sickness and inflammation.

I am sure by now you have heard of the Spartan race,
it’s been voted the #1 obstacle race by Outside Magazine and is the global leader in obstacle racing since 2005.

Influenster review

Influenster product review.

I was lucky enough to be asked by Influenster to review these products, they were sent to me free of charge in exchange for review.
When the box arrived..... I was excited, all these products I would certainly use.

Starting off with the NEXT STEP shake: From the Vitamin Shoppe, provides 14g of protein, 5g  of fiber, and a blend of essential vitamins and minerals.
Also helps in reducing body fat, and increasing lean body mass.
The flavor was better than most shakes I have tried, and it was very filling. Absolutley buying this product to keep on hand.

The Blueberry flavored almonds, were delicious.....and I love alomonds, they also come in strawberry and raspberry flavor.
The Profoot Pedi-Rock.
I love that you can use it wet or dry, and as a runner I am always using a pumice stone on my feet. This is by far a winner!
Also by PROFOOT is the Triad Orthodic.
I never knew using something like this in my running shoes could help with pain I get in calves from running.
And for us ladies, we have the Playtex Sports fresh balance.
We all know how it can get uncomfortable during that time of the month, and exercising can make it even more so.
The Playtex sport is what we needed all along, they are now a staple in my bathroom cabinet.
Also in the package was a coupon for Muller greek corner yogurt.
I am not much of a yogurt eater, but this yogurt was very good. If I do buy yogurt I would say this would be the one.

And to end it all we have Aqua Spa relax collection.
Who doesnt love to be pampered at the end of a long exhausting
day. This is true Bliss.... leaving your skin glowing, and the aroma is amazing, like a spa in your own home.

Ahhh...... Life Is Good!

MilestonePod Review

MILESTONEPOD REVIEW

I received the Milestonepod to review, and it is something I have never seen before.
Most of us wonder.....how many miles do I have on my running shoe,or shoes. Wonder no more, this little light weight devise takes
the guessing out.

They do come in different colors, but the people at MilestonePod were awesome enough to send me the pink one.
You download the Free mobile app, which wirelessly will sync to your phone or Ipad.
Simply lace the pod through your shoe and begin your work out. The pod collects data as soon as it senses movement. No buttons, no waiting, no hassle. Track your mileage for every run or walk – your pod goes with you everywhere. There is no need to disconnect from shoe.

The pod constantly displays current total mileage from your shoes. Never replace a shoe too soon and avoid falling prey to injuries from broken down shoes (e.g. stress fractures, tendonitis, plantar fascitis, runner’s knee, shin splints, and others.
Wirelessly sync your pod with Bluetooth technology to view detailed work out data. The MilestonePod stores up to two weeks of data covering overall mileage, individual run mileage, pace, and cadence.
And if you run in more than one pair of shoes, which you should,
the price of the MilestonePod is reasonable enough to have one for each pair.

Here is the link to give you more information, and where to buy your own MilestonePod. http://milestonepod.com/

If you already have the Pod let me know what you think, if not is this something you would be interested in?

My Healthy Kitchen

My healthy organic staples.

I want to share with you a few healthy foods I always keep on hand in my kitchen.

1. Ezekiel bread and Tortilla's

These by far make the healthiest sandwiches, taco's Pizza's
or wraps.
2. Organic Coconut oil.
Coconut oil has many uses, I use it to fry, bake, condition my hair, and it is also a good body lotions.....and smells so good.

3. Chips

These tortilla chips are so good, great flavor and texture.  I find them a better snack than potato chips, or other tortilla chips. And they go great with a Organic salsa.

4. Organic eggs.

You will not go back to non organic eggs after you have eaten farm fresh Organic eggs, the taste is so much better and of course the eggs are much healthier for you.

5. Spinach and Quinoa cakes.

Pair these with fried eggs for breakfast, or salsa for a snack.
Most of these products you can find at Costco, or your local organic store.

Happy healthy eating!
